Greensworker (student)
  

Join a dynamic team, at our championship golf course, that is on the frontline of delivering an exceptional guest experience. 
 
POSITION: GREENSWORKER (student) 
 
HOURS OF WORK: variable up to a maximum of 36.25 hours per week (must be able to work weekends, holidays, and early mornings) 
 
LOCATION: 
Upper Canada Golf Course 
(11 km east of Morrisburg) 

 
SALARY: $17.40 per hour 
 
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: early May to September 1, 2024 
 
WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO DO IN THIS ROLE? 
 

You will: 
• Operate hand-mowers, string trimmers and specialized mowing equipment to cut greens, tees, approaches, roughs, etc. 
• Service the equipment by checking oil, fuels, grease, etc. 
• Change pins and tee markers, and rake bunkers. 
• Clean washrooms and assist grounds team with course duties.  
• Maintain equipment logbooks and complete accident and injury reports in the workplace. 
• Work safely at all times and report unsafe activities immediately to your supervisor. 
• Embody the SLPC’s equity, diversity and inclusion principles while interacting with staff and guests. 
 
HOW DO I QUALIFY? 
 
You have: 
• The ability to operate specialized golf course equipment. 
• The ability to follow oral and written instructions. 
• The ability to learn all safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal, guest and fellow staff safety is maintained at all times. 

Student Status: You must be enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution (currently or for the fall semester) OR you must have graduated within the past six months (for example, if you graduated in December, you can apply for and start a summer student position up until June of the following year).
